Jay from WREW / Mix 94.9 in front an airplane

Jay

WREW • Mix 94.9
Noon–6pm Monday–Friday

Jay Kruz has had the same pair of headphones for 22 years—and they’re still going strong.

Whether good luck or just neurosis, the headphones have seen him through many radio experiences. One of Jay’s favorite parts of the job is being able to give back to the community. He cites one of his favorite career moments as "hugging and high-fiving breast cancer survivors at the finish line of the Komen More Than Pink Walk and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events each year. It’s truly an honor."

He’s also grateful to have served on the board for more than six years at Brighton Center, which helps families achieve self-sufficiency. Jay is also a 10-year volunteer, past board member and past president at Music Resource Center (MRC), Cincinnati—a nonprofit after-school music education program for grades 7–12. Jay was instrumental in establishing the radio program at MRC. 95.7 MRC Radio (WVQC-LP) features a playlist composed entirely of music created by teens in grades 7–12 at the Music Resource Center.

When he’s not on Mix 94.9, you can also find Jay in the stands and on the ice as the in-game host for the Cincinnati Cyclones. He is also “the guy” everyone goes to for travel deals and ideas. That’s why CVG Airport selected him as host and writer of the Jet With Jay videos and travel blog on the CVG website. He’s been to 29 states, four Canadian provinces, and more than 30 countries including Thailand, Cambodia, Peru, Italy, Malta, Estonia, Belize, and Latvia—to name a few!

Jay is a husband and father who enjoys playing hockey, fly fishing, boating, collecting old radios and playing guitar.
